The 16th of August is “Moore College Sunday”.
Across the diocese, churches are praying for the college and asking people to consider further training for ministry.
Our generation doesn’t care much about institutions anymore– whether it be the girl guides, the lifesavers or the Anglican communion. There has been a dramatic drop off in loyalty to some of the old icons of days gone by.
There is also a thought around in Sydney that says you can go and start a church and you don’t need to go to theological college to do that.
However I also want to say—”hang on!”. I really needed to go to college!. There are enormous blessings I have and our diocese has, because of Moore College. Therefore we should protect it. In fact we should protect this and other institutions that do good. Supporting Anglicare, CMS, and Moore College is very important for the wider work of the gospel.
Moore College is doing something that we and the world benefit from. It is one of the best Bible Colleges around. It’s reputation amongst evangelical Christians extends around the globe, as it trains Christian men and women for a life time of Bible teaching ministry. My experience at Moore College helped me grow as a Christian and build firm Biblical foundations for my life of ministry.
Let’s pray, give, and some go to Moore, for the sake of the gospel. (Andrew)
